For charitable organizations and initiatives, the Internet provides the opportunity to reach more people in more direct and personal ways. Are they grasping this opportunity?

This OII workshop is being organized in collaboration with the British Government’s Office of the Ambassador for Philanthropy, to discuss the implications of the Internet on the practices and cultures of philanthropy in the UK.

The workshop will focus on how the evolving nature of the Internet – from web strategies to social media – is reshaping philanthropy. Are the ways people give and the demographics of giving changing? Are the expectations of donors changing? For charitable organizations and initiatives, the Internet provides the opportunity to reach more people in more direct and personal ways. Are they grasping this opportunity?
