Summary to come.
The ever-increasing quantity of personal data stored electronically or transmitted online means that few individuals in the developed world are unaffected by the risks of possible security infringements or data losses. Whilst the cryptography industry has spent many years developing easy-to-implement tools to enhance privacy and protect personal data, the social, political and institutional complexities of data-creating and sharing behaviour mean that there is little hope of a ‘magic bullet’ which might reduce risks overnight.
This seminar brings together leading figures from industry and academia to discuss where developments in technology, design and research around security and privacy might be leading us, with a view to highlighting the most important trends.
