This workshop discusses issues facing approaches to archiving digital content over the coming decade, while focusing on a proposal for an institutional digital repository for research reports.
This event concerns the many technical, social, and institutional issues of digital archiving, of particular relevance to the University of Oxford. It has been organised under the aegis of the Digital Archiving Group, a working group of Oxford’s Information and Communication Technologies Committee (ICTC) in collaboration with the OUCS Research Technologies Service, the Oxford Internet Institute, and Oxford University Library Services, all of whom have collaborated on its design.
The workshop will bring key units together with outside experts on the issues facing approaches to archiving digital content over the coming decade, while focusing on a proposal for an institutional digital repository for research reports. Progress on the development of digital archiving policies for the University would address an issue central to a major research university, but also support Oxford’s participation in the national Sherpa project (which resulted in a pilot eprints repository) and the recent publication of the Electronic Library and Information Service for Oxford (ELISO) report.
This event has been organised in collaboration with the Digital Archiving Group, a working group of Oxford University’s Information and Communication Technologies Committee (ICTC), the OUCS Research Technologies Service, and Oxford University Library Services.
