Abstract
Our research on Internet governance is complemented by a programme of seminars, forums and conferences. This page provides links to these events, and also to webcasts and other resources arising from them.
Many events were organised as part of our work on civil society participation issues relating to the World Summit for the Information Society (WSIS): the WSIS project website provides a background to WSIS, and links and resources.
Workshops and events
12-15 Nov 2007 (IGF 2007, Rio de Janeiro): Marcelo Thompson has organised a workshop: 'Human Rights and Neutrality in the Information Age' addressing: 'In which sense are technologically neutral laws and policies suitable to harness the development of a people-centred Information Society and to protect and fulfil the human right of access to knowledge and technology?'. Ian Brown has co-organised the IGF 2007 workshop: 'Managing security issues: authentication at the transaction level' (pdf, 74kb) and published a paper: 'Co-regulating Internet Security: The London Action Plan' (pdf, 1Mb) at the Global Internet Governance Academic Network's (GigaNet) second annual symposium.
