The Director of the Institute is advised by a distinguished international Advisory Board of persons with expertise or experience relevant to our work. The Board gives guidance on general research directions and assists in fundraising and income generation.

Sir Alex Allan served as the first UK Government e-Envoy, and is former chair of the Joint Intelligence Committee and Head of Intelligence Assessment, UK Cabinet Office.

Andrew Graham is the former Master of Balliol College, University of Oxford. He was the driving force in establishing the OII, and its Acting Director until July 2002. From 2001 to 2011 he was the founding Chairman of the OII's Advisory Board.
