Thirty two years after the adoption of the first international instrument on personal data protection, the wave is now coming to Asia. Some countries in the region amended their old laws and came out with more comprehensive ones. Some started and developed from scratch. Others are in the midst of finalizing the law.

Before so doing, he will discuss briefly the international instruments and some recent developments, particularly in Asia.
